Sennheiser has been providing the best in headphone engineering and sound/audio solutions since the past 60 years. In a venture to  provide the most affordable yet appealing sound in a portable earphone Sennheiser introduced the CX 180 Street II In-Ear Canalphones and since its arrival it has always been in the list of best selling headphones. Lets review the Sennheiser CX 180 Headphones and see what have they compromised in making it so affordable yet special.

The Sennheiser CX 180 is a canalphone style headset that fits comfortably inside the ear canal and blocks ambient noise. The headphone package comes with a 2 extra pair of headphone cushions of different sizes and 2 years warranty which is impressive.Talking about the design, the design is quite simple yet elegant and the housing of the headphone comes with a finger contoured design for maximised wearing comfort, also the housing is made of rubberised grip that prevents it from slipping away and gives a better grip when holding the housing.

The headphone is completely made up of plastic with a combination of glossy and matte finish. Being made up of plastic it is quite delicate but lightweight as well. It comes with a 1.2 m long cable which is unfortunately not tangle-free. Also the cable is too thin and may break if used aggressively. At the middle of the chord, there is a splitter with nothing but a Sennheiser logo on it. That means the headphone does not come with a mic or controller. It has a 3.5 mm gold plated audio jack which gives better connectivity with the audio devices. It has a frequency response range of 20-20000 Hz, impedance rating of 16 Ohms and 110 dB sensitivity. One interesting feature of the CX 180 is that there is a provision to adjust the length of the chord with the help of a hook which is attached to the chord just beneath the splitter.

Let us move to the most important part now, the sound quality. If you are a bass lover, the Sennheiser CX180 is the perfect fit for you. It definitely has a very powerful bass with boost, not excellent but i’d say impressive. It gives unparalleled bass sound and high resolution stereo effect. It also minimises the outside ambient noise so you can enjoy your music without getting interrupted. However the mids and treble of the headphone is not so good, it lacks in tone and detailing, and while listening to rock kind of stuff the vocal sounds a bit empty. But it does give a super clear bass attack and amazing acoustics which makes it up. Sennheiser CX 180 Street II in-ear headphones give the best sound quality at this price segment. The overall sound quality is more than average.
