Design & Features
Such lightweight, much portable
The boAt Rockerz 400 is available in various attractive colour combinations to suit your style: Black, Black/Blue, Black/Red, Carbon Black, Grey/Green. The headphone is made up of plastic and hence cannot be called sturdy but the plastic body does make it extremely lightweight(weights only 110g) and feels so light on your head. Also the headphones are foldable so you have the privilege to fold the headphones and carry it around with you anywhere.
The faux leather ear cups are spongy and well cushioned but I feel they are a little too small. Based on Amazon customer reviews some people feel that the ear cups hurt if used for too long and others are completely comfortable with the ear cups. I feel it depends on how you adjust the headphone to fit onto your head and ears nicely.
There are three control buttons below the right ear cup, in which the centre button can be used to play/pause or receive calls and the other two buttons can be used to rewind/forward or volume up/down. The boAt Rockerz 400 also offers passive noise cancellation and cuts all the ambient noise around you so can enjoy music to yourself even if surrounded by chaos.
There is an LED indicator that blinks blue means which means waiting to connect. It turns blue when paired and turns red when charging is low. The battery life of the headphones is commendable, working for 5 to 8 hours depending on the usage and charges fully after 2-3 hours of charging. The operation range of the headphone is 10 meters if there are no obstacles in between.
One useful addition in the boAt Rockerz is that the headphone can be used wireless with bluetooth connectivity or wired with the provided aux cable. Using the headphone in aux wired mode saves a lot of battery and you don’t have to worry if your battery drains out because aux is there to save you. However the sound quality in aux mode degrades a little and is not as good as it sounds in bluetooth mode. boAt Rockerz 400 also offers an in-built microphone for handsfree calling and the quality is not so good. On call, the person on the other end hears echoed voice.
How does it sound?
It won’t disappoint you
The boAt Rockerz may not look so cool but it definitely sounds kickass. It has a very impressive bass output. If you are a basshead then it’s definitely the deal for you. The overall sound output is also clear with the treble and mids perfectly balanced. Although sometimes you might hear a little distortion if you crank up the volume. But that is completely excusable considering the size and price of the headphone. If you would like to know more about this headphone then feel free to comment down below.
There is no doubt that boAt Rockerz 400 is one of the best headphones in its range. With an incredible bass output, portable design, long battery life and added aux support makes this headphone so fulfilled. Its MRP is ₹2200 and it’s definitely worth the price. In case you are getting it for around ₹1300 then there is no way you can miss this headphone, especially if you love bass.
